If some files fail, you can still download the successful ones. Failed runs leave the original PDF unchanged.

Is this free to use?
Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, no installation, and no watermark.
Does this overwrite my original PDF?
No. The original PDF is never modified. A new PDF with page numbers is created. If processing fails, the original stays unchanged.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. PDFs are processed entirely in your browser and are not uploaded to a server.
Can I skip numbering the cover page?
Yes. Turn on “Skip cover page” to leave physical page 1 unnumbered and start numbering from page 2 using your start number.
Can I change the starting number?
Yes. Set any integer start number. Numbered pages receive sequential values beginning at that number.
In a format like “1 / 20”, what does 20 mean?
{total} is always the total page count of the original PDF. Cover skip and page range do not change {total}. For a 20-page PDF, the “20” in “1 / 20” is always 20.
Can I use Roman numerals or letters?
Yes. In Advanced settings, choose Arabic, Roman (upper or lower), or alphabetic numbering. Roman numerals support values from 1 to 3999.
Can I number only some pages?
Yes. Use the custom page range in Advanced settings. Pages outside the range are left unnumbered. You can combine this with cover skip.
Can I process multiple PDFs at once?
Yes. Add multiple files and apply the same settings in one batch. Preview shows the first PDF. Successful outputs can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
Does numbering change image quality or layout?
Only a page-number overlay is added. Page content is not recompressed, so the original look of each page stays intact in the new PDF.
Do you support password-protected PDFs?
Not in this version. Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. The original PDF remains unchanged.
